A silk blouse proto-type for my Golden Marble Fields satin fabric! What do you think? Is it a Hit or Miss? Fab or Drab?
There’s a reason that I normally stay away from silk! And it’s because the fabric is so delicate!! It really slowed me down to a snails pace. I didn’t want to screw-up to the point that I began to second guess my pattern measurements. Satin is a close second to the fabrics I typically avoid, but I love the feel and the look of the finished project. I’ll share my tips on how to handle these issues soon.
You guy’s know I always see things a little differently, so why should a simple silk blouse be any different? I had to add a little detail to the collars. I wanted a little draping in the front and added a mini cow-neck.
I added a collar on the back of the blouse that crossed over the front collar attached at the arm hole.
The finished satin look will have slits on each side and a slightly lower back. I didn’t add this detail on the silk blouse in order to move things along ! I started on the satin blouse and will finish this one by the end of the week!
Here’s a look a look at the fabric on Spoonflower! Click on the photo to see the fabric in my shop.
What do you think? is it a Hit or Miss? Fab or Drab?
Stay tuned there’s more to come from LaCartera!
I love the fabric you created and it really looks like an off the rack shirt to me!
