The Latest Thread – Textiles

This week has been whirlwind of cool craft finds on the web, great craft buy’s, happy clients, getting spotted on Spoonflower, a blogger award, new fabric prints, new friends, a tutorials got a featured spot, and more cool plans!  All of this normally  doesn’t happen in a week, but I thought It would be a chance to start sharing the latest thread with you!

Textiles, Textiles and Shopping for Textiles

If you haven’t been checking in lately with me, I’ve been marbling fabric in hopes to use them in my future sewing projects and I’m enjoying the results!  A couple of my fabric designs have received good reviews so far on Instagram and have been added to Spoonflower shop lists, so glad I’m not the only one that like the results.

Shopping for Textiles

I think that most of us are addicted to textiles and of course I’m no different. 🙂 I found that using white %100 cotton poplin fabric works best for my marbling techniques vs. white 100% cotton broad cloth.  Last month I used the I started painting and marbling fabrics on poplin fabric and found that it works better for me, because of its thickness.  The poplin absorbed the paint better than broad cloth.

Since the poplin was sold out on *Amazon, I found a great deal on broad cloth instead, which could be used for testing sewing projects. If it’s used for fabric painting you should go light on the paint, because it’s really thin! 20160407_190753

I also needed to replenish my paint stash too so I got the slightly larger size containers so I wouldn’t run out quickly.
