I have decided to challenge myself to enter as many Spoonflower weekly design challenges as I can for the next two months. This weeks Spoonflower design challenge was a “Moon Landing” entry for
Princess Awesome that ended on January 15th. I submitted my design one minute before it closed and hope that my last minute entry can inspire little girls everywhere.
So now I need your help! Please Vote for my entry along with others if you can before January 22, 2019. (You can click on the vote button and it will take to the Spoonflower voting page.)
Here’s more information about the challenge:
The Moon Landing with Princess Awesome Design Challenge
“On July 20, 1969, mission commander Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin were the first two people to land on the moon and to celebrate, Princess Awesome and Challenger Center are teaming up to create a dress commemorating the anniversary featuring this week’s winning design.”

Behind the Scene:
I decided to bring in the girly colors and graffiti or comic book letter look to the design as a reminder of the historic event that girls can rock on a dress or a pair of leggings. I wanted to do something unique to stand out from other moon designs.
This was an awesome challenge for me, because the Apollo 11 mission involved men landing on the moon of course and during that time many of those involved in the successful mission we were told were also men. All I could think of is the movie “Hidden Figures” and if you haven’t seen the movie it is definitely worth watching. Here’s a link to the YouTube … Hidden Figure Trailer
What a fun challenge! I loved your design, my vote is in!
