Hello Handmade Handbag Junkies!
It feels like a year since my last post, but It’s been only a month! I’ve been dreaming of the day when things calmed down a bit to let everyone know that I’ve been displaced due to smoke damage to my home after my adjacent neighbor’s townhouse caught fire. Everyone is well and no one was hurt, but we may not be allowed to move into our home for 8 months. We aren’t sure what caused the fire yet, but we are speculating that it was electrical. Me and hubby are currently living in a hotel , which has its advantages, and disadvantages of course!
There’s plenty time to dream of new designs!
Since I no longer have room to paint or sew, I will focus on the digital aspect of my textile and pattern designs. And now that the hubby can’t enjoy his music hobby we have to explore different activities too! I haven’t convinced him to take a painting class yet, but I’m working on it. luckily I found a list of classes at the local Michaels store to keep the creative juices flowing.
As fate would have it, I was still in the planning phase of my spring handbag collection and hadn’t ordered the fabric or supplies. Now all of my fabric stash is being professionally cleaned and stored until we move back home. I’m slowly adjusting to a new routine and since the transition I’ve bought some yarn to crochet a baby blanket for my grand-daughter arriving in July! This will keep me busy for a while and I’m looking forward to creating something really cute for her too!
So as I reflect on what is truly important…. I will share my new experiences, crafts and designs during the next few seasons until I’m settled in my very own creative space again! I’m also looking forward to chatting and catching up with all of you in the next couple of days! I feel like I’ve missed a lot of your new creations too!
In the meantime I look forward to the harvest moon when everything is complete and liken this experience to God’s plan to put me in a better place for harvest time!
Just like a farmer creating fine wine….”The harvesting of wine grapes (Vintage) is one of the most crucial steps in the process of wine-making. The time of harvest is determined primarily by the ripeness of the grape as measured by sugar, acid and tannin levels with wine makers basing their decision to pick based on the style of wine they wish to produce.” Wikipedia
Stay tuned there’s more to come from LaCartera!
Hey there. Missed you!!! So glad to hear from you. Glad you and hubby are fine. New grand-baby? Congratulations. Looking forward to seeing and hearing more soon. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for stopping by! I keep trying to move forward over the hurdles, and some how the internet connection or the intermittent connection makes me the most frustrated. I hope to finish some blog posts eventually!
