Things to see When You’re in Beijing: Searching for Treasures in Asia – Part #10

Visiting the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, China and seeing the sights around town shows how the imperial architecture of the Ming Dynasty is as fascinating as some of the modern architecture.

The Temple of Heaven built the 15th century was used as an imperial sacrificial altar in Beijing that is  surrounded by gardens and historic pine woods.   The well maintained and beautifully decorated structures are admired by visitors from around the globe.

Around town I found some interesting architecture designs and things that remind me of home.

I saved some of the interesting food choices for last.

I think most of the selections here are for the adventurous tourist! There were a couple of guys near the market counter to encourage people to try the delicacies as they appeared to eat the starfish and the other kabobs, but most people only looked.

Stay tuned there’s more to come from LaCartera!

Lovely photos! So happy to see you traveling and enjoying the art of Beijing! And I tried a tiny bit of octopus before so I guess there’s a little adventurous side of me with food. I would try the starfish…maybe a little nibble. lol Can’t wait to view more of your time there and I hope it’s inspiring many beautiful patterns and ideas!

Thank you! I enjoyed seeing the sights in Beijing. I’m not so adventurous with food anymore, but there were many opportunities to try jellyfish and sea cucumbers too. I love octopus if it’s cooked correctly! 😀 This trip did inspire some creative ideas and I hope too incorporate some of them in my work along the way!
