The Latest Thread – Shopping for Textiles, PDF Pattern & More Textiles

This week I’ve been approving my latest design swatches, selecting fabric for my next projects, adding the finishing touches to the Sling bag pattern and collaborating with a friend on a print for her kitchen remodel. So here’s the latest weekly thread!

Shopping for Textiles, Pattern Making and More Textiles

It’s so exciting when my fabric designs arrive for review and approval! And this time was no exception! I created a couple of designs for my grandson and I’m looking forward to getting started on his birthday gift!  While I’ve been focusing on my PDF patterns I didn’t think that I would have a chance to tinker with a couple of patterns for him before his birthday, so I decided to buy a couple of indie patterns from Sprout Patterns for his shirt, hoodie and a dress for myself!  Sprout is connected with Spoonflower so I can upload my designs onto the 3D model to figure out my layout and they will cut out the fabric pieces for me. Click on the photos to see the pattern.

The remaining test group members will have their handbags completed on Monday and the pattern will be ready for sale at the end of the week. I’ve been thinking about my next PDF pattern and working on arranging a bag kit from a vendor that will offer all of the hardware needed for the next pattern at a discount.  I’ll share more information with you next month.

Instagram

Here are a few favorites on Instagram this week.  After approving the orange tile pattern I’m offering a larger pattern choice for wallpaper only.  I still want this in my kitchen under the chair-rails and a matching valance… The black and gray vintage filigree pattern will look great as a shower curtain too!

Shopping

I selected the Faded Glory print to create a project, but this little bow tie has been on my mind.   There so many things to create! I’ll have to stay focused! 🙂

What’s coming next week:

  • Hit or Miss
  • Sewing Tip
  • Sling Bag Release

Stay tuned there’s more to come from LaCartera!
