This week I decided on a submission for the Bucketfeet/Spoonflower challenge, received my textile swatches, found a mood board, and started planning for next week’s home and customer design challenges… So here’s the latest weekly thread!
Textiles, Designs and Shopping
I made the deadline for the ocean theme design entry for Bucketfeet and Spoonflower! This time the sponsors will choose 100 semifinalist designs for voting on May 19th.
It was difficult to select my favorite, because I was attached to them all. Everyone who commented really helped me narrow down my selection! I’m soooooo hoping my design is selected…fingers crossed! I’ll keep you posted when the voting starts!
Here’s a design that didn’t make the cut!

Designs
I’ve updated my Spoonflower shop with my new textile, wallpaper and gift wrapping paper. Now I need to decide on wallpaper, kitchen curtains , patio cushions and a dress for me! Click on the photo see fat quarter swatches in my shop.
Shopping
I’ve been looking for a vision board for a while and when I saw the mood board at Mood Home Upholstery shop in New York, I needed to have this in my life.
There are so many cork boards to choose from and I recently found a deal at my local Walmart for $8.97 (USD) that’s perfect for my home studio! A Quartet bulletin board black wood frame 24 in x 36 in (61 cm x 91cm). I got the hubby to hang it for me so that I could take this photo! And that got him to move a little quicker. 🙂
I plan to hang my rulers and cutting boards underneath, but I have to wait for the hubby to find the perfect hooks.
What’s coming this next week:
- Selection of PDF pattern testers
- Spoonflower/Bucketfeet voting
- Hit or Miss –
- Helpful Sewing Tip for sewing with Denim
Stay tuned there’s more to come from LaCartera!
