Many aspiring sewers become afraid or unmotivated because the project didn’t turn out the way they wanted. A big pile of unfinished garments is a dead give away! Our brain is trained to look for inconsistencies and it is how we judge beauty. Unconsciously, we know something is off and we give up before we finish. The reason for this doomed journey starts at the fabric store but is often made worse by how we end up cutting the fabric.

I love fabric and can’t tell you how nervous I get when it comes time to cut it!!! YOU are correct a lot of shop/sites don’t tell you that fabrics (washables) should be washed & ironed before cutting patterns out to avoid nasty shrinkage of your project. My mom and grandmother always said to wash the fabric first!!! now for me to get over the fear of cutting the fabric

So Sew Easy has shared some great tips! And the only way to conquer your fear is to practice using some fabric that you don’t mind making a mistake with. Once you feel comfortable with that then try your hand with the good fabric.

Yes!! I have a JoAnn store 5 miles away and I can spend hours there. The best part of the shopping experience are the coupons and the online shopping.
