How to Manage your Goals & Dreams in 2016!

MountainAs I shout from the mountain top looking down at my sometimes chaotic and hectic day-to-day, I want to be organized!  I want to accomplish my goals, and organize my day-to-day in 2016!  Whether its blogging, creating, sewing, home improvements, work, or family time. I found three products to help me plan and manage my day and my goals in 2016. Let me warn you now…It’s not easy, but it’s effective!

I look back at a time when everything was in its place and there was a strict schedule to follow in the household to keep our lives in order. Now that I’m a wife, empty nester blogger, grandmother, employed full-time, taking an online PDF pattern making course and creative designer for LaCartera, I find that sometimes things can wait until tomorrow. Is it because I’m the ultimate procrastinator? Partly yes, and my current system of writing a list, forgetting to put the list on my phone (tablet & computer), or take it with me to the store just isn’t working anymore!DREAMS2

I scoured the web for days to find a planner, organizer, calendar or anything to help me with this because I didn’t want to go another year without being organized. There are a lot of cute and adorable planners out there, but these three things and methods have changed my habits and I feel my goals are manageable and attainable in 2016!

*Please note that I’m a frequent buyer and affiliate of Amazon and will earn a commission if you decide to make a purchase.  This is how I keep my blog site free to you and continue to expand my brand. I really appreciate if you use my links when/if you decide to make a purchase. Thank you!

Organizer Planner Tool

Invest in a planner! Sounds simple right? Well all planners are not the same, and may not fit all of your needs so don’t settle on this investment!  I wanted to be tech savvy and use my multiple social media devices or software, but I realized that I need paper and lots of it!  Not only for my daily lists of things to do, but I need paper to write down my goals and my plans or steps to accomplish those goals.  And there’s always something I need to write down to save for later.

As I mentioned this was not an easy task for me, but I found what I call the 8.5″ x 11″ ULTIMATE planner!  I ordered it at theinside planner end of November and it arrived just before my Etsy & custom orders started to pile up.  The planner started with the month of December 2015, and ends on the month of December 2016. So whenever you order the planner you will receive a 12 month planner.

I love that this planner comes with instructions on how to make the most of planning, the 20-20 habit challenge (20 minutes a day for 20 days in a row you commit to planning), steps to living life on purpose, and areas of life you want to focus upon. You thought it was simple?  But it is easy to use.  My favorite features are the note pages that have a purpose, and questions to answer like Where am I now? Where do I want to be? And how do I get there?  The Goal pages help keep you focused on your main objectives and the essential steps to complete the objective. The monthly priorities master-list for personal growth and work related priorities keep my life  balanced.

Last but not least there’s a month at a glance, a weekly view with times, and a priority list. So I’ve learned to plan out myplanner cover goals and organize my plans quickly and focus on my top priorities without feeling overwhelmed.

There are several colorful heavyweight covers to choose from on Amazon, but I love this bright red with white flowers! Take a look at the product description and take a look at the short video posted  in the customer review section. He really explains the value of his purchase. And there’s a 100% guarantee or your money back!

Carry a List With You

How do you keep up with your daily to do list? I’ve been referring to my planner and I keep a mental list tucked away in the daily recess of my mind, but when you add things I need to buy or have a very busy day I use this note pad.

To do list

It  helps me stay to stay on track on the days that I need to remember things to buy, important tasks and time schedules for the day.  Lately this has been a life saver when I’m out and about.

Special notes you want to highlight

I’m definitely a note taker and most of the times they are not organized.  I normally put my notes on whatever is handy and then I decide what I need to keep and what isn’t important anymore.  I found the cute pink notebook shown above at the Marshalls Department Store, because it had such a cute message and it was $5.00. Right now I’m using it for special tips and notes for my pattern tutorials.

I also found these cute sticky notes to save my special notes in my planner and dream book. The bright colors standout and I can keep-up with it.

I’ve never invested in an actual goal planning system before and after a month of actual usage I’m excited about completing my goals! I’m the planning queen and my life feels less hectic and now I do things with a purpose!  Bring it 2016, cause I’m ready!!!

What’s your favorite planning or goal tracking system?

I am a little scattered at the moment but every time I buy a planner, I never use it. It’s like I have all these ideas on how the planner will maximize my time and then I don’t take the time to actually use it! What kind of backward mess is that? lol Anyway, I will take a look at your picks and see if any of them tickle my fancy and I already clicked on all the links to help you out. 🙂

And oh…you’re a grandmother? *makes a very confused face* Black don’t be crackin’! lol

You’re a mess….And yes I’m a proud grandmother! I know how you feel about being scattered I think we sometimes put a lot of pressure on ourselves with our good intentions. It helps to spend 20 minutes a day to plan your day or week and soon it becomes a habit.
