Do you know why there’s a red ball on one end of the seam ripper? I can only remember using the seam ripper properly once! Usually I pick the seam completely apart, or I remove some of the seams and then I pull the rest of the seam apart with force when I’m frustrated.
A friend posted this video over the weekend, and I thought I would share it with you. Pam Damour explains in her video why the red ball is there and how to use it. Take a look here.
Stay tuned there’s more to come from La Cartera!

You know, I saw her do it, but I still don’t quite believe it. 😉 Will have to remember to try this next time and see if it really works.

Hahaha, you must have been using my go to methods…pick the seam and pull. The method does work and saves you so much time and frustration. 🙂

I actually did get a chance to try it and it didn’t work with either of my seam rippers.

I’m sorry to hear that, I’ve tried it and it works fine. Did you take a few stiches out before you tried it? Did you place the red ball underneath the seam? And did you try on a straight stitch?

Thanks for sharing… I’ve heard about that but not seen it. After watching the video my mistakes will now be quicker to rectify! 😃

I know what you mean. I had to remove some stitches today. I was a little afraid to start, but once I got started It was a breeze.
