Hello handbag junkies! I’m so happy to get back to creating handbags. We have a lovely friend that has inherited a ton of fabric from her father’s upholstery shop and has gifted us several yards/bolts of faux leather, vinyl, and other canvas fabrics too, so there are a lot of new designs coming!
I decided to dip my toe in the water again and started with only a limited amount of faux suede. The Sling bag was my first easy choice to start with and I decided to add some embroidery to give it some interest. When I began embroidering the front panel of the bag it was not appealing to me, so I decided that the embroidery work looks best on the flap only.
I used my sling bag pattern to help me get my creative juices flowing again. And you know I love color so I added a pop of color on the inside of the bag to have fun!
Here’s a look at the sling bag: What do you think? Is it a Hit or Miss? Fab or Drab?
I have the pattern for sale in the Etsy shop. You definitely can add your own style touches with your favorite fabric colors!
I’m also working on structured bags and I’ll share the results in the next Hit or Miss post!
Stay tuned there’s more to come from LaCartera!
I like your new bag, Sheila 🙂
Mostly I use a structured bag, as I find it more easy in use.
I was not allowed to comment at your blog directly, so I write in the Reader.

Thank you! I like using the sling bag for shopping or running errands around town.

I do understand that. I like there are many rooms inside a bag, as I keep many different things inside, as I like to be able to find without needing to empty the bag first 😀

LOL! I totally understand that problem. I think many ladies have experienced the frustration of trying to find those items at the bottom of our purse. 😂
