Starting LaCartera:

I’ve always enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and decorating ever since my mom taught me how to make doll clothes. I’ve made clothes for myself and others and prepped myself for the fashion design world. But life took over and directed me on another path in law enforcement. Some 30 years later that passion re-emerged when I needed a creative outlet in 2013, as a new years resolution to myself! I started focusing on handbags as a challenge, and was reminded by my cousin that she remembers when I made handbags as a kid too so she wasn’t surprised. Thanks to my family, especially my husband who pitches in with cooking and cleaning I am able to sew, create, imagine and blog! My blog is ever evolving and now includes things for kids, textile designs, tutorials, and soon PDF patterns and fashion. Thanks to everyone for their support and many blessings, my testimony is that dreams and passions never die! Sometimes they’re just postponed…

A little advice for new bloggers:

If I could give one piece of advice to new bloggers, it would be to focus on your passion and the words will always flow. And if you share your process with others you will always inspire others!
